COVID update 29 January 2021

Updated: Mar 30, 2021

Hello parents and students,

The NSW Government changes to restrictions across the Greater Sydney region today, 29 January 2021. This included changes to the requirements for wearing a face mask.

It is no longer compulsory to wear a face mask in NSW except on public transport if you are 12 years or older. In light of this, it is no longer a condition of entry to wear a face mask at MJ Piano Lessons. However, the NSW Government recommends:

"Wear a face mask if it is hard to maintain 1.5 metres of physical distance from others..."

Students, parents and other visitors attending in-house piano lessons are asked to kindly:

  • Allow the piano teacher to wipe down the piano and other common touch surfaces between students.

  • Apply the hand-sanitiser provided upon entering and leaving the premises.

  • Ensure that students bring along their own pencil and other personal items to use during their lesson.

  • Adhere to physical distancing guidelines.

  • Adhere to room occupancy limits of no more than four visitors at any one time.

  • Stay at home if you are unwell.

  • Stay at home if you have been ordered to self-isolate or quarantine.

  • Note that you may be sent home in the event that they begin to display symptoms of COVID.

  • Make use of the available sanitiser wipes to clean any surface or item that you may utilise during your visit.

All students, parents and other visitors attending in-house piano lessons are encouraged to:

  • Register your presence using the Service NSW app, noting that MJ Piano Lessons already maintains a daily log of student lessons and in the event that contact tracing was necessary, the required data would already be to hand.

Thanks in advance for taking these simple steps to help stop the spread of COVID.

If you require assistance with the requirements listed or do not understand them, or would like to see a copy of the full management plan, please contact me directly at any time by phone 0404 824 020, email or by using the contact form.

Best regards

Justin McKee
