The Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) has responded to customer feedback by creating an avenue for people to reschedule or transfer their booked exams.
While it would be rare and unfortunate circumstances that would require a student to need to reschedule their graded piano exam, it is comforting to know that the option is available.
Piano teachers like me at MJ Piano Lessons received the following notice of AMEB's new Rescheduling Policy and the Transfer Policy on 19 March 2021:
"New policies provide more flexible options for candidates wishing to reschedule their exam. The existing AMEB (NSW) Transfer Policy was reviewed in late 2020 to determine if options for candidates could be expanded to provide more choices. This was done in response to customer feedback. Following the review, the AMEB (NSW) Board approved new policies (the Rescheduling Policy and the Transfer Policy) that are more closely aligned with other state AMEB offices. These policies apply to enrolments received on or after 29 March 2021 (for examination sessions in the second half of 2021 and onwards). The Rescheduling Policy allows for your students to reschedule their exam date for any reason. The Transfer Policy is now applicable only on medical or school-related grounds, or when an exam must be moved due to not receiving advice prior to the scheduling of an examiner who is the candidate’s teacher/mentor. Fees apply to both policies. Click this link for more detailed information about the new Rescheduling and Transfer policies."
If I have booked you in for a piano exam and you are requiring to reschedule or transfer it, please contact me directly by email or phone.
